Misconceptions
regarding autism has stretched from as far back in history to the present day
and is further perpetuated in a digital age where misinformation is more easily
spread and inaccurate representations are strewn all over the media. These
stereotypes were, and still are, prevalent to this day. If we are often
offended by these, then it even more so harms those within the spectrum.
Neurodiversity
does not make someone any less of a person. Everyone of us is made unique, but
are equally beautiful in the eyes of the Lord to be brothers and sisters
despite our differences. In Ephesians 4:1-6, we, Christians are in fact one
body and Spirit; one Lord and one faith.
The Apostle Paul has a a perfect verse for us Christians to apply in relation to this, especially when dealing with the neurodivergent. In Colossians 3:12, he told us: "Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering."
