Here are some inspiring people who have achieved and conquered the hardship of having autism or "people who do not act their age". These interviews and experiences show that every person who has autism does NOT all act the same. This article page will show how vast the autism community is, and how we've only covered a very, very small portion of people in the autism spectrum through the interviews and information we have gathered.

We would like to thank Communicare for giving us the opportunity to meet different people with autism and show us that everyone is different, e ven with kids and adults who have autism. Without their help, many of the insight gathered would not have been possible.

We got to interview two amazing people! These two people are different. But what they've gone through is close to identical. Doesn't that seem unfair to you? These people just need more guidance, and yet we call them "different" in a bad way. That doesn't seem right. This is why we interviewed these people: to prove that not even autism can stop you from accomplishing what the Lord's will is for you!

Parent Interview

Mr. Jose Mari Racho is a UCSP teacher and a loving father to 3 children. He and his wife are dealing with a daughter who has autism. His daughter is currently 18 years old and is non-verbal, but her family keeps her safe and definitely protects her no matter what. It has been a struggle for him, but with the Lord's help, he does an amazing job as a father, and treats her the same as their other children - even using the same method of discipline. With this online interview, you can see that he is still as hopeful and is as joyous as ever!

"Unnamed" Parents

Due to personal reasons, we cannot name this certain parent. However, they helped us learn more about what autism and the spectrum really is. Our team became more aware about how there is more to autism than what we see on TV or the media. They made us understand that even people with autism are different. They taught us that ASD (autism spectrum disorder) is like a rainbow. It signifies that a person with autism can be as different as the colors. The colors of the rainbow may have been mixed with other colors - like how orange is made up of yellow and red - but the outcome will still be different. It's the same thing with people with autism. They may have some similarities, but that person will not be the exact same as another person with autism.

Sir Kyle

Sir Kyle is a 28 -year-old who graduated in a Montessori school and worked teaching kids on how to grow into maturity before the pandemic.
He prefers the term "Person who does not act his age". He does not like to be to referred as a person with autism. He was very casual and very calm to talk to. But when we asked him, "How old were you when you found out you had autism?" he left the room immediately and asked an available doctor about what we were talking about, insisting that he did not have autism. When he came back to the room, the doctor informed us not to use the term when we described his condition.

Sir TJ

Sir TJ is 33 years old. He currently works at Communicare and is diagnosed with autism. Unlike Sir Kyle, Sir TJ had been very open about his overall experience and was a very detailed explainer. He shared with no hesitation even the most personal events in his life. He shared with us his experience with bullying and all the derogatory words thrown at him throughout his life.
